Eligibility to participate in The 2023 Polonia Open Golf Tournament by Żywiec

    1. All golfers must be of Polish extraction (Note exception below*)
    2. GROSS: Entries are open to amateur golfers only.
    3. NET: Entries are open to amateur golfers only, who as of February 27, 2022, have an established and verifiable “Handicap Index”
    4. Mid Amatours: Entries are open to amateur golfers who have reached their 35th birthday by FEB 28, 2023.
    5. SENIORS: Entries are open to amateur golfers who have reached their 50th birthday by FEB 28, 2023.
    6. WOMEN: Entries are open to amateur golfers who as of February 7, 2022 have an established and verifiable “Handicap Index”.
    7. Maximum allowable Handicap Index is 27 for Men & 30 for Women. Only 80% on the Reported Handicap will be used at the Polonia Open 2023 by Zywiec Tournament.

    *ELIGIBILITY EXCEPTION:

    1. If the participating golfer is not of Polish extraction, the Polonia Open 2023 Committee will allow the following exceptions:
      1. either husband or wife must be of Polish extraction,
      2. one parent must be of Polish extraction.
      3. participant must be a member of good standing of a recognized Polish Golf Club in the USA & Canada (PAGA, PGC, PAGC, PODHALE GC, BIAŁKA CUP ,White Eagles GC or PCG) or a club member of any Golf Club in Poland or Polish GC in the World and must present a letter signed by the Club Secretary.
    1. If golfer does not have verifiable Handicap Index he / she must present a certified letter signed by the Secretary of their respective Golf Club attesting the individual’s Handicap Index, otherwise the participant must accept and play to a ZERO handicap.
    2. Any and all exceptions can only be approved by the Polonia Open 2023 Rules and Organizing Committee.

Tournament format 2023 Polonia Open by Żywiec

POLONIA OPEN 2023 BY ZYWIEC TOURNAMENT will be an individual “STROKE PLAY” competition that will be conducted over 54 holes (18 holes each day).

  1. Categories:
    1. MEN’S GROSS: A minimum of 50 eligible entries forms with paid entry fee must be received by midnight of, February 12, 2023. If less than 50 entries have been received by the deadline of midnight, February 12, 2023, then the MEN’S GROSS category will be cancelled and the tournament will be conducted in both GROSS & NET categories. A player making the cut in both categories, the committee will move up the next eligible player from the GROSS category only.
    2. MEN’S NET: only players with an established and verifiable “Handicap Index” as of February 27, 2023 can participate in this category. Polonia Open 2023 by Zywiec will use only 80% of each player’s handicap.
    3. MEN’S Mid Amateur (+35): Format will be GROSS only for man 35 yo or older. Only one champion will be awarded with Blue Champion jacket. A minimum of 50 eligible entries forms with paid entry fee must be received If less than 50 paid entries have been received by the deadline of Midnight of February 14, 2023, then this category will be CANCELLED
    4. MEN’S SENIOR: Format will be GROSS only. A minimum of 50 eligible entries forms with paid entry fee must be received. If less than 50 paid entries have been received by the deadline of Midnight of February 14, 2023, then this category will be CANCELLED. All players registering for this event MUST select an alternate category they wish to play in, should this category be cancelled due to insufficient number of entries.
    5. WOMEN: Format will be GROSS and NET. A minimum of 16 eligible entries forms with paid entry fee must be received by midnight of February 14, 2023.
  1. The Tournament will be played at Trump National Doral.
  2. This is a 3 day, 54 holes tournament with the 1st round (18 holes) starting on Wednesday, Mar 1, 2023. Starting times, pairings and courses will be posted no later than February 28, 2023 on the POLONIA OPEN 2023 BY ZYWIEC website.
  3. All paring will be done by the HCP # so players at the same foursome have a HCP difference not more than (+-) 3
  4. After the completion of the 2nd round (36 holes) Thursday, March 2, 2023 the field in each category may be cut as described in the Tournament format.
  5. The FINAL round of 18 holes will be played on Friday, March 3, 2023.
  6. In the event of a tie, the following play-off(s) will be conducted:
    1. GROSS: Hole-by-Hole play-off starting on the 18th hole until a winner is determined.
    2. NET: Hole-by-hole play-off starting on the 18th hole with Handicap Index until a winner is determined.
    3. NOTE: In the event that the cut will be established, players that did not make the cut will be scheduled to play on Friday, March 3, 2023 in an 18 holes “FUN” tournament at a golf course to be determined by the committee.
  1. The POLONIA OPEN 2023 organizing committee has arranged for all players to have special access to the Trump National Doral to play from Monday, February 26 – Tuesday, February 28, 2023 to play practice rounds (Practice rounds green fees are NOT included in the entry fee).
